Bill spent Christmas with mom. He called on Dec 26th to say that he is worried that she can't make it much longer on her own. He said that he doesn't even think she has the strength to drive into town.
He said that during Christmas dinner with mom and one of her older friends, Bill was looking away when he heard mom's friend ask, "Do you think we will be here for Christmas next year?" Bill said that he turned back just in time to catch mom shaking her nead no, but she stopped as soon as she saw him.
He also said that mom had commented that she was glad that Ray had been able to stay at Rocky Point till the very end, but that she didn't know if she would be able to because she didn't know how much longer she could handle things on her own.
Old people often make comments like that, but mom has NEVER made either of those two comments before.
