(More gruesomeness) When mom scraped up the flap of skin on her shin a week ago, she carefully laid the flap back into place before she wrapped it up. But that was evidently the wrong thing to do because it trapped the bacteria inside, and her wound is now infected. The doc at the wound clinic had to use Lidocaine to anesthetize the wound and then remove the skin flap. Bill says that her leg is swollen and red from her knee down to her ankle. She has another appointment at the wound clinic on Tuesday, and that will work out well because she is supposed to have another blood draw in preparation for her appointment with Dr. Kubac on Thursday, so she can take care of both tasks that day.
When they finished with the wound clinic, Bill took her grocery shopping. When they got home, one of her neighbors brought them a freshly baked apple pie, and mom said that her whole house smells wonderful.
Bill says that he thinks her moments of confusion and forgetfulness are increasing. I am planning to arrive in RP a week from tomorrow on March 6th.
