Still not stabilized (Fri, 18 Feb 2011)

Mom's follow-up visit with Dr. Kubac showed that she had lost about 5 pounds since her last visit two weeks ago, and that her blood work had "dropped some" meaning that she is a little less stable than she was at the last visit. Mom pointed out that she doesn't wear the same clothes on each visit, so it's possible for that to affect her weight. She said she thinks she was wearing boots last time, so neither she nor Kubac were too concerned about the weight loss, but he did tell her that he wanted her to stay around 112 lbs. and to try to eat a little more. She said it's hard when you don't have much appetite.

Kubac thought she was a little dehydrated, so he reduced her dosage of Metolazone to every other day because he doesn't want her losing fluids too rapidly. He wants her to come in again in two more weeks, so she has a follow-up appointment at 11am on March 4th, plus she'll have to go into town a couple days before that for the blood draw. She said that it's kind of frustrating, and she just wishes she could "get it squared away." But she did say, "Except for the fact that I get tired easily, I feel good, and I don't have any symptoms of anything bad." I figure that's good news!

She told me that she has been waiting for one last form to arrive before H & R Block can complete her income tax return, and when it still hadn't arrived today, she called Smith Barney. She talked to a very dull and boring woman who said that the form had been mailed and should probably arrive early next week. Mom commented that it must be coming by dog sled, and the woman replied, "No, it's coming from New York"... Well that explains it!!! Mom said, "She had about as much personality as a drain hole." HAHAHAHAHA, mom doesn't mince words.

Her neighbors invited her to come over for dinner tonight, and another neighbor is going to pick her up so she doesn't have to drive. She is looking forward to it.
