Feeling a bit better today (9 Jan 2011)

I called mom this afternoon, and she sounded pretty good. She was sitting in her green recliner sipping a cup of hot chocolate, and we reminisced about how she used to make a big pot of homemade cocoa for all of us kids when we would come in from sledding down the back hill when we lived in KF on Damont Street. We both agreed that mom's homemade cocoa was much better than the instant stuff, but that sometimes it's nice to just be able to have a cup on the spur of the moment.

I asked mom what she thought about me calling Dr. Kim tomorrow to get the ball rolling on the hospice idea, since I suspect that it might take at least a couple weeks to get it up and running, but she wants to wait at least till next weekend. She said that she is doing fine right now and that she is still able to make her own meals and clean up her kitchen, so she doesn't really need it yet. She said, "After all, it could go either way...things could get better instead of worse." Very true.
