Mom's Orders (Thu, Apr 13, 2011)

I started to entitle this post "Mom's Last Wishes" but mom was way more adamant than simple wishes. She made her final arrangements several years ago so she could ensure that things would be done exactly as she wanted. She did not want a service. She wanted to be cremated, with her ashes to be scattered in the creek out front of her cabin. I will pick up her ashes next week from the funeral home, but I don't expect that we will be scattering them till later this summer. I sent her self-written obituary to the Herald and News this morning, and they told me that it would be in tomorrow's paper.
