The New Shade (Sat evening, 19 Mar, 2010)

Quite a while ago mom saw an insulated window shade at the home of one of her friends and she thought it would be perfect for her big uninsulated dining room window. Bill ordered the shade for her in Redmond, and he brought it down with him this trip and installed it today. She is thrilled with it. She called me to tell me that she hadn't realized how much space the old 1980's curtain took up. She loves how light it is in the dining room, even when the shade is down, because it's a light off-white color. And because of its double-cell construction, she is looking forward to the new shade keeping a little more of the warmth in the room overnight.

She also wanted to report that her hunch had been right about the protein causing wonkiness in her kidney function. (There's that sharp analytical brain in action.) Sharon the PA had told her to not drink the Muscle Milk protein drink and instead get some Ensure and mix it with ice cream to make it taste better.
