1.8 (Mon, 21 Jun, 1:30pm)

Mom did a Protime test this morning and her Coumadin level was at 1.8. It has gradually come up from 1.2 last Thursday, but 1.8 is still too low. Mom called Glenda right at 8:30am, but Glenda was already with a patient and wasn't able to call back till just before noon, partly because she wanted to wait to confer with Dr. Kubac and he was in surgery all morning.

Mom is supposed to increase her dosage of Coumadin today, and then give herself another injection of Lovenox tonight and have one on hand for tomorrow morning in case tomorrow's Protime is low again. So we will be heading into town this afternoon to pick up two more syringes at BiMart. I told mom that I would be happy to run in and get them for her, but she said that she needs an outing and she wants to go grocery shopping.

Mom said that she didn't ask Glenda about the Toprol or any of the other questions on her list because the clinic is always busy on a Monday morning with all the accumulated questions from over the weekend. I am hoping that she will ask tomorrow when she calls in her Protime result.
