Mom called just now to tell me that she had talked to Glenda, Dr. Kubac's assistant, on the phone. No one had informed Glenda that mom's surgery had been postponed to the 14th! Glenda said that mom didn't need to come to the cardiac clinic today, but Glenda called in the prescription for Lovenox, so mom and Jerry will go into town to pick it up and also to have lunch at their favorite burger joint.
Mom's Coumadin level has to be below 2.5 in order for her to have the surgery. This morning it was 3. Glenda told her to stop the Coumadin tomorrow (Tues Jun 8). Then mom will do another Protime test on Thursday and Glenda will decide at that point when to start the Lovenox. I asked mom whether she is supposed to do any Protime tests before Thursday and she said not that she is aware of.
She said she is feeling fine today.
