Back to the Holter (Tue, Jun 1)

Bill took mom into town this morning for her weekly visit to the Wound Clinic. Dr. Fried was on duty again. Mom and Bill and I all like him a lot. Mom said that the wound was "a little better, but not enough to make them celebrate, and they are hoping to see better next week." Hmmm, seems like that's almost exactly what I heard LAST week. Bill said that the wound is making progress but it's a lot slower than they'd like due to her poor circulation. The blood isn't moving as well as it should, and it's causing problems. If the wound never heals, it could affect her whole body. Another appointment next week on Monday.

At Dr. Kubac's office, mom got hooked up to the Holter monitor again for another 24 hours. Bill will drop off the monitor tomorrow morning at Kubac's office. Dr. Kubac told mom that he probably wouldn't have the results till Thursday or Friday, and that he will call mom so she doesn't have to drive into town.

They did several chores...bank, grocery shopping...and visited Dr. Tice (old friend of the family) and his daughter Debbie (who is also one of mom's honorary daughters).

I asked mom about her pulse and although she didn't give me a number, she said that toward later morning it got more rapid. She said that she admits that she tires easily.

Mom's friends Myrna and Jerry invited mom and Bill for dinner tonight, and mom is looking forward to the visit. Bill says that she seems like she is back to her old self, just not as strong as she used to be.
